Charities

"The Morson International Charities Committee is delighted to have ‘Help for Heroes’ and ‘The Shannon Bradshaw Trust’ as our chosen charities for the year 2011. Both are incredibly worthy causes and I would ask you to take a quick look at their websites (Help for Heroes www.helpforheroes.org.uk and Shannon Bradshaw Trust (www.shannontrust.org.uk) to get an idea of the fantastic work they do. 2010 was a great year for Morson’s charities committee as we raised thousands for the North West Air Ambulance service and Brainwaves.

This year we intend to do even better than ever with more events and fundraising opportunities planned. I do hope you will join us in working on a number of fundraising initiatives throughout the year and I look forward to reporting all the events and money raised".

Supported Charities

  • Shannon Bradshaw TrustThe Shannon Bradshaw Trust was established by Patti and Alan Bradshaw. Their daughter Shannon was diagnosed with Aplastic Anaemia at just 7 years old; unable to find a suitable bone marrow donor, Shannon died just 5 months later. After experiencing first hand the effects of having a child with a life-threatening condition and the trauma felt by the whole family, Patti and Alan wanted to help other children and their families who sadly found themselves in similar situations. Since 2002 the Shannon Bradshaw Trust has been raising money through fundraising events which have helped many sick children and their families throughout the North West.
  • Help for HeroesHelp for Heroes raises money to support members of the armed forces who have been wounded in the service of their country. Benefitting the Navy, Army and Royal Air Force, ‘Help for Heroes’ raises money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country. Fundraising has helped to open the ‘Help for Heroes Rehabilitation Complex’ at Headley Court. This is a purpose built facility designed to rehabilitate wounded service men and women. In addition, it is also raising £20million to provide 4 ‘Personnel Recovery Centres’. These centres will provide comfortable living and learning accommodation for those on the road to recovery, giving service men and women injured in the line of duty the very best training and opportunities to face a fulfilling future. Help for Heroes also funds:
      -   Individual Recovery Programmes
      -   Royal Navy and Royal Marine facilities at HMS Drake
      -   Combat Stress
      -   Other related charities
