MORSON INTERNATIONAL HELPS CLIENT RAISE £12,000 FOR CHARITY
28 September 2010
Salford-based technical engineering recruitment company Morson International, has teamed up with client GKN and helped to raise an impressive £12,000 for charity through sponsoring a bike tour of the South West of England.
Morson International was keen to offer its support to the event that was in honour of Colin Lewis, a close friend and colleague who died suddenly this year. The bike ride involved cycling between GKN sites in Redditch, Filton, Kings Norton, Luton, Portsmouth, Isle of Wight, Bristol, Yeovil and Weston-Super-Mare which totalled an impressive 375 miles, which the team of eight cyclists managed to complete in 48 hours.
Morson donated £1,000 towards the cause, in addition to providing a camper van to track the riders as they travelled between each destination. The total raised will be donated to nominated charities, The Weston Hospice and The Heart Foundation, which were the choice of Colin’s family.
Samantha King, Account Director at Morson International said: “We were keen to support the efforts of the GKN staff members and thought it was a fantastic way to remember one of their much loved colleagues.”
