Morson Aircraft Engineering has landed itself new aircraft approvals, new customers and a new line station in 2019.
In 2018, Morson Aircraft Engineering entered the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) market as an EASA Part-145 approved maintenance provider. The Morson Group, through Morson International, already had excellent connections to the MRO industry and its engineers through its activities in resource provision. Morson Aircraft Engineering’s EASA Part 145 approval takes these connections to the next level in delivering fully certified maintenance solutions for its clients.
The new approvals include Boeing 747, Airbus A310 and Airbus A330 P&W 4000, adding to our current approvals on the Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737 aircraft.
As well as this, Morson Projects has acquired a new line station at Bristol (BRS) Airport working with Thomas Cook Airlines. This has added to the ever-growing portfolio of line stations we already have; Belfast (BFS), Birmingham (BHX), East Midlands (EMA), Gatwick (LGW), Glasgow (GLA) and Newcastle (NCL).
Alongside the new approvals and new line station, Morson Aircraft Engineering is delighted to be working with new customers. As of April 2019, Morson Aircraft Engineering will be working with the following customers.
Since Virgin Atlantic was founded in 1984, Virgin Atlantic has become one of the world’s leading airlines serving the world’s major cities. Virgin Atlantic uses a mixed fleet of Airbus and Boeing wide-body aircraft and operates to destinations in North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Morson Projects will be working with Virgin Atlantic at our Glasgow and Belfast line stations.
Sunwing is a Canadian airline established in 2002. Sunwing Vacations started as a family business, and has grown substantially, providing more vacation packages to the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America than any other travel company from coast to coast. Sunwing is one of Canada’s fastest growing and most successful companies, but are still owned and operated by the Hunter family. Morson Projects will be working with Sunwing at our Belfast line station.
SmartLynx is a Latvian airline, founded in 1992, that specialises in full-service ACMI (Aircraft-Crew-Maintenance-Insurance), i.e. aircraft lease services and is the leading ACMI provider in EU on Airbus A320 aircraft. In 2017, SmartLynx made 15,933 flights from 25 base airports in Europe, Middle East and Asia. Morson Projects will be working with SmartLynx at Birmingham and Bristol line stations.
Avion Express is the largest narrow-body ACMI operator in the world and the largest airline in Lithuania. Since the introduction of its first Airbus A320 in 2011, the company has reached its largest fleet of 18 Airbus A320 family aircraft in 2018. Morson Projects will be working with Avion at our Birmingham line station.
Scott Wells, Director of Morson Aircraft Engineering, said: “It’s been a really exciting year for us at Morson Aircraft Engineering. This time last year we were operating in Belfast alone with only one customer. Fast forward 12-months and we now work with a number of high-profile operators across seven line stations in the UK. Achieving such growth in such a small timeframe hasn’t been without its challenges, however, we’ve got some fantastic engineers, managers and support staff who have all rallied together to ensure we delivered for our customers. I’m pleased to be working with such a capable team. This team and Morson Aircraft Engineering have real potential in the MRO sector.”
