EASA Part 21J DOA

We have recently expanded our aerospace capabilities with a highly skilled team. Our team have significant experience in delivering innovation and excellence in Part 21J engineering, support solutions and services within the aerospace and defence industry. The team is authorised to deliver approved design data packages which could be major changes, major repairs, minor changes, minor repairs, service bulletins or Supplementary Type Certificates (STCs) of any scale across avionics, cabin, electrical, environmental control and structural. The terms of our approval allows us to generate designs for Part 23 and Part 25 aircraft, including Certification, Initial Airworthiness and Continued Airworthiness.

With combined Part 21J approval and aircraft engineering specialists, we are uniquely positioned to offer a single supplier solution to upgrade or modify aircraft. This solution reduces the complications airlines often experience in modification programs and therefore, minimises or negates internal management. Further, the concept to reality time frame is reduced enabling airlines to react faster to customer’s needs.

We also provide a global Repair Design Office offering aircraft surveys, damage assessments and support with embodiment programmes. We work closely with our clients to ensure our designs fulfil all requirements, whilst minimising the cost of embodiment. Our Scope of Approval from EASA covers Avionics, Cabin, Electrical Systems, Environmental Control Systems and Structures, thus providing our clients with extensive capability; from simple repair schemes to special mission aircraft modifications.

The ADS-B solution that Morson Projects is offering is for H987 series Rockwell Collins equipped aircraft and Cessna Citation 525 Series (Proline 21) equipped aircraft. The main aim of our EASA STC 10064681 is to introduce ADS-B Out functionality on the Rockwell Collins equipped hawker series aircraft.

Synopsis of Change:

We are introducing Morson Projects DOA Major Change MP0001A and EASA STC 10064681. This change introduces ADS-B Out functionality and will encompass the approval of the pairing of Transponder and GNSS high integrity position sensor.

Effective:

  • HS 125-700A/B, BAe 125-800A/B, Hawker 800, 800XP, 850XP, 900XP and 750.
  • Cessna Citation 525, 525A, 525B and 525C Series.
  • This Service Bulletin and EASA STC are effective for aircraft serial numbers as approved by Morson Projects Limited DOA Letter of Authorisation.

Reason:

This Change is provided for aircraft compliance with ADS-B Out functionality with CS-ACNS (Airborne Communications, Navigation and Surveillance) and 1090MHz Extended Squitter   ADS-B.

Description:

  • Morson Projects DOA Major Change MP0001A is for aircraft currently installed with the Rockwell Collins avionics suite. Inspection of the aircraft is required to determine the possible avionic upgrade requirement options.
  • Change MP0001A demonstrates compliance with CS-ACNS (Airborne Communications, Navigation and Surveillance) and 1090MHz Extended Squitter ADS-B.
  • No physical work on the aircraft will be needed as part of this Service Bulletin and an approved Aircraft Flight Manual Supplement will be included as part of this Change.

Before embodiment of Morson Projects Limited DOA Major Change MP0001A, the following pre-requisites are required:

Aircraft Equipped with the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 Avionics Suite:

  1. Installation of dual Rockwell Collins TDR-94D transponders (part number 622-9210-501 or later) compliant with RTCA DO-260B.  If the aircraft is not compliant with this requirement, Morson Projects Limited DOA Minor Change MP0001B, available with Morson Projects Limited DOA Service Bulletin SB.MP34-002, can be used to upgrade the aircraft.
  2. Complementary to the installation of Morson Projects Limited DOA Major Change MP0001A, is the installation of Morson Projects Limited DOA Minor Change MP0001C, available with Morson Projects Limited DOA Service Bulletin SB.MP34-003, to introduce wiring between the TDR-94D transponders, wiring for a cockpit annunciator, installation of the annunciator, wiring between the GNSS sensor and the transponder, and GNSS configuration wiring.
  3. The aircraft must also have a Rockwell Collins GPS-4000S (part number 822-2189-002 or later) qualified to FAA TSO-C145.  If the aircraft is not compliant with this requirement, Rockwell Collins AML STC ST01433WI-D for installation of the correct standard of GPS-4000S and antennas is available.

Aircraft Equipped with the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 2 Avionics Suite:

  1. Installation of dual Rockwell Collins TDR-94D transponders (part number 622-9210-501 or later) compliant with RTCA DO-260B.  If the aircraft is not compliant with this requirement, Morson Projects Limited DOA Minor Change MP0001D, available with Morson Projects Limited DOA Service Bulletin SB.MP34-004, can be used to upgrade the aircraft.
  2. Complementary to the installation of Morson Projects Limited DOA Major Change MP0001A, is the installation of Morson Projects Limited DOA Minor Change MP0001E, available with Morson Projects Limited DOA Service Bulletin SB.MP34-005, to introduce wiring between the TDR-94D transponders, wiring for a cockpit annunciator, installation of the annunciator, wiring between the GPS sensor and the transponder, and GNSS configuration wiring.
  3. The aircraft must also have a Rockwell Collins GPS-4000S (part number 822-2189-002 or later) qualified to FAA TSO-C145.  If the aircraft is not compliant with this requirement, Rockwell Collins AML STC ST01433WI-D for installation of the correct standard of GPS-4000S and antennas is available.
